Jr. Kindergarten 5 Year Old Program
 (5 years old before December 31^st)

Beginning September 2005 we have decided to hold our Jr. Kindergarten program 4 afternoons per week instead of the traditional 3 afternoons we have had for many years. Our Jr. Kindergarten program is designed for children who are not eligible for kindergarten due to chronological age or who may need another year to develop socially or academically before heading off to kindergarten. The children will attend school on Mon-Thurs from 12:15PM-3:15PM with Friday afternoons off. Since many of the children have already experienced a 3 day program, we decided it is a natural progression to a four day program since they will be attending Kindergarten 5 days per week the following year. The extra day will allow the teachers and children more time to work on their phonetic awareness, pre-reading and math skills as well as allow us the extra time to be able to review what we have already learned. The children will be keeping a journal of their monthly learning experiences and with the extra time they will be able to add more detailed pages to their journals. They will continue to develop their social skills as well as their usual music and art activities!
