We set up the school to look like an art museum and parents and children get all dressed up to attend the show. During March the children also learn about various artists from impressionists to water colorists. In May we hold our “Mother’s Day Tea” where for which the children spend several weeks preparing projects and baking special desserts to share with their mothers during our morning tea. The mothers come to the school and the children sing special songs and serve “goodies” as well on this special day. We also hold something for fathers…“Donuts for Dads” take place one morning from 7:00AM – 9:30AM where dads come in and enjoy donuts, coffee and juice with the children. The children also have special gifts for dad to take with him that day! We end our school year with your grand finale…our Annual Graduation Musical which is held at the Middle School in Hingham. This is a musical in which the children perform many of the songs that they have learned during the school year. The older children in our pre-kindergarten program have a special graduation ceremony that day as well. In addition to the singing and dancing we present a slideshow presentation of the various things that we did during the school year. This is a very special time for us to say goodbye to our special friends.
We make sure that everything we do at Pre-School Playmates involves our families which are so important to a child’s development. The show and musicals and various events that we hold throughout the year help the children develop self esteem that will help carry them through their elementary school experience and beyond.
